I just bought a book yesterday entitled "The Water Mirror"--a children's book, set in Venice. The canals hold creepy, multi-fanged mermaids, and the cover illustration is giving me the creeps, just thinking about it. Your image of Venice is gorgeous and surreal. I've never been there, and I want to see it so badly. It looks like a dream.
